Where licensed criteria are met and it is clinically appropriate, yes — but we assess carefully rather than supply on request, and it is fair to say what that means before you book.
We start with why
Thyroid disease, PCOS, insulin resistance, Cushing's and a long list of ordinary prescriptions all cause weight gain, and several are reversible. A BMI figure excludes none of them, and a questionnaire does not ask. Baseline blood tests are part of the assessment, not an optional extra.
What we will not do
- Prescribe below licensed BMI criteria
- Prescribe for cosmetic weight loss at a healthy weight
- Prescribe without blood tests
- Prescribe where an eating disorder is present or suspected
What we will tell you
That appetite and weight return for most people after stopping — this is ongoing treatment rather than a course. That a meaningful share of the weight lost is muscle, and resistance training matters. And that a dedicated weight management provider may serve you better for the ongoing programme, because structured weekly support improves outcomes in a way periodic GP review does not.
We do not sell the medication and take no margin on it, which is exactly why we can say that.
