No. Cheshire Clinics is self-pay only. We do not bill insurers directly and we are not on any insurer's provider panel.
This is deliberate. Insurer paperwork, pre-authorisation and claims administration cost money and time, and both would end up in the price. Staying outside that is part of what keeps a consultation at £40.
Some policies reimburse self-paid private GP fees. We can provide a receipt showing the date, service and amount if you want to submit a claim, though whether it is covered is between you and your insurer.
Worth checking before you assume you are not covered
- Health cash plans — the low-cost plans often provided through employers or unions — frequently reimburse GP consultation fees up to an annual limit. They are considerably more likely to cover a £40 consultation than a full medical insurance policy is, and a great many people who hold one have never claimed on it
- Employee assistance and workplace health schemes sometimes reimburse private GP fees
- Your policy's outpatient allowance, which on some plans covers GP fees even where the plan is built around specialist care
What the receipt shows
Date, the service provided, the amount paid, and our details. It does not include clinical information, which is not something an insurer needs in order to process a routine reimbursement.
If your insurer requires more, ask us before submitting. Anything clinical is released with your consent and not otherwise.
If you have full private medical insurance
Your policy may well cover a GP consultation through their own panel at no cost to you — in which case using it is cheaper than paying us, and you should. We would rather say that than take a fee you did not need to pay.
