Two things need saying at the outset, because they shape everything else.
First, we do not diagnose ADHD. Diagnosis requires a specialist assessment by a psychiatrist or an appropriately qualified specialist, using a structured interview, developmental history and usually information from someone who knew you as a child. A GP consultation, remote or otherwise, cannot substitute for that.
Second, we do not prescribe stimulant medication remotely, without exception. Methylphenidate, lisdexamfetamine and dexamfetamine are controlled drugs, and we will not prescribe them or take over their prescribing at a distance.
What we can do is help you get to the right assessment — including telling you about a free route that many people do not know exists.

The single most useful thing in this area is knowing that Right to Choose exists. A great many people wait years on a local list, or pay thousands privately, without being told they could choose a different NHS provider for free.
We will explain it and make the referral.
This is genuinely valuable and often skipped. Inattention, poor concentration and restlessness are produced by a considerable number of other conditions:
Blood tests and a proper history can identify a treatable cause before you spend money on an assessment. Sometimes both are present.
Where a GP appointment is weeks away and you want to start the process, we can see you sooner.
Assessment of mood and anxiety, and treatment of those where present. These frequently coexist with ADHD and often respond well.
This is the strongest argument by a wide margin. Right to Choose gives you a free NHS assessment with a provider you select, and in many cases the wait is shorter than the local service.
If you are in England, this should be your first consideration.
Only a specialist assessment produces a diagnosis. That is the thing you are seeking, and we cannot provide it.
Stimulant treatment requires specialist initiation, careful titration, and monitoring of heart rate, blood pressure, weight and height. That is specialist work, and it is not remote work.
NHS diagnoses transfer into NHS shared care straightforwardly. Private diagnoses frequently do not — many GP practices decline to enter shared care with private providers, leaving people paying privately for medication indefinitely. That is a substantial and often unanticipated cost.
NHS services can provide psychological support, occupational assessment and coexisting condition management alongside.
If you are in England, ask your GP about an NHS Right to Choose referral for ADHD assessment. It is free, and the wait is often shorter than the local service. This is the single most valuable piece of information on this page.
Sleep apnoea, thyroid disease, anaemia, B12 deficiency, depression and perimenopause all cause inattention, and all are treatable. Excluding them costs little and occasionally resolves the problem entirely.
"Will my GP accept shared care from this provider?"
Ask your GP surgery directly, before you pay for the assessment. If the answer is no, you are committing to paying privately for medication and monitoring indefinitely, and that changes the arithmetic considerably.
If stimulant prescribing is what you need, we are not the right service, and we would rather you knew that before booking.

In England, a legal right to choose your provider for a first outpatient appointment, including ADHD assessment, where that provider holds an NHS contract. It is free and often faster than the local service. Ask your GP.
No — not initiation, and not continuation from another provider. Stimulants are controlled drugs requiring specialist oversight and in-person monitoring. This applies without exception.
Frequently not, and this is the commonest unpleasant surprise in this area. Practices vary considerably. Ask your own surgery before you pay for a private assessment, because being declined means paying privately for medication long term.
Quite possibly, and it is worth checking. Sleep apnoea, thyroid disease, anaemia, B12 deficiency, depression, anxiety and perimenopause all produce inattention and poor concentration. Sometimes both are present.
Understanding the routes, excluding treatable mimics, making the referral, and treating coexisting anxiety or low mood. That is a genuine contribution, and it is not a diagnosis or a prescription.

No. We are not here to replace GPs, only to support them. Your NHS practice remains responsible for your ongoing care, and with your consent we write to them after the consultation. We are useful when you need to be seen sooner, or want more time than a standard appointment allows.
Twenty unhurried minutes and a comprehensive assessment. A written treatment plan is included, along with any prescription, sick note or referral letter arising from the consultation, at no extra charge.

It means the diagnosis can usually be made from your history and photographs, and that treatment can be arranged safely without examining you. Where a condition is not marked treatable online, it is because examination is the diagnosis — listening to a chest, feeling an abdomen, examining an ear or a joint — or because a procedure or device is needed.
Yes, where there is a genuine bacterial infection — cellulitis, impetigo, bacterial urine infections, confirmed strep throat. We will also frequently tell you that you do not need one. Most sore throats, coughs, colds and earaches are viral, and an antibiotic gives you the side effects with none of the benefit.
If your problem turns out to be genuinely outside what we can do remotely, the doctor will tell you straight away, point you to the right service, and refund your fee in full. We would rather do that than fill twenty minutes to justify the charge.
Call 999 or go to A&E — do not book an online appointment and do not wait for a reply to an email. For urgent problems that are not emergencies, NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, online or by phone, and can direct you to the right service.
