Yes. You have a legal right of access to your data under UK GDPR, and you do not have to give a reason.
Email hello@cheshireclinics.com and we will provide your records within one month, free of charge. In practice it is usually much quicker.
You do not need to make a formal subject access request for a routine copy of a consultation summary, a letter or a result — just ask.
Records are retained for the periods set out in UK health records guidance, which for adult GP records is a minimum of 10 years.
What we hold
Only what we have generated: consultation notes, prescriptions we issued, results we requested, and letters we wrote.
We do not hold your NHS record, and we cannot retrieve it for you.
Getting your NHS records
The NHS App gives most people in England direct access to their GP record, including test results and letters, at no cost and without asking anyone.
Beyond that, your GP practice must provide a copy on request, free of charge, within one month. You do not need to justify the request there either.
This is worth doing before a second opinion, here or anywhere — arriving with your actual results makes the appointment considerably more useful than describing what you were told.
If something in your record is wrong
You have the right to have factual inaccuracies corrected. Tell us what is wrong and we will amend it.
A clinical opinion you disagree with is treated differently — it stays on record, but your disagreement is recorded alongside it, which is how it should be.
